Yesterday I was just reading through this book "How to be creative" by MacLeod. Thought I have not finished reading that book, I would say that it is worth reading. It not just talks about being creative, But more about things that prevent you from doing so and the things that frustrate you in your daily life.
While reading that book, I felt that many things that I feel are part of everyone 's life. When I first joined my company, I was very enthusiastic, I used to take up more and more challenging things and do it my own way - "I was Creative". But as time went on, my way of thinking changed, I want to do things the way others will accept it. I refrain from doing things that are drastically different from the normal. Now I am not creative, I just want to do things the way others think. I was frustrated about it. The book gave me the encouragement to do things my own way.
This is an excerpt from the book
"It was so liberating not to have to be thinking about all
that, for a change.
It was so liberating to be doing something that didnʼt have to impress anybody, for a change.
It was so liberating to have something that belonged just to me and no one else, for a
change.
It was so liberating to feel complete sovereignty, for a change. To feel complete freedom, for
a change.
And of course, it was then, and only then, that the outside world started paying attention."
Happy Reading.....
